Project Blog

Music Video This is my Second media Studies project, I worked very hard to produce something that is unique. The video tries to follow the theme of rap culture. Even though I had many setbacks, I pulled through and made what I consider a quality piece of work. I look forward to making more projects like this down the road.   This is a major step in improving my production skills.

Getting the flow correct

Getting the flow correct For the second day of editing. We focused on editing fine details and new clips to add a very unique affect around the video. The first thing we did was added some FX affects. This gives the video more pop and make the transitions more clean. We had some camera blur affects for some parts of scene to make each clip different from the last one. We did a full run through of the song making sure there were no inappropriate parts in the song. While doing that we though we play around with some sounds of the clips being implemented behind the song. To give the scenes that need more sound. Some of the clips look awkward without any sounds. If you watched the clips yo would be able to feel that they need some part of sound for the video. The first clip we edited background noise into was the clip of Jet skis. We tried several different compressors and clip editing software to make the sound very clean and like its supposed to sound in real life. We had to cut extra ba

Editing Blog  At first I sat down with 8-9 clips. My partner and I were on facetime trying to decide how we should place the clips in the music video. I wanted the music video to flow very well with the speed of the song. I first set down the Clips in the order they were created. I first looked at the time of each clip and trimmed them up to make them more clean. As well, I would like to clip some of the bloopers of all the clips. I also played around with speed of all the clips trying to make them all different. I then decided to Drop in the song and line up the lip sink scenes. I then lined them all up. I then added transitions to all the clips so that the flow of music video is very smooth. I then then adjusted the light in each scene. I first started with editing the temperature to give a more bluish tint to the music video. This gives it a interesting affect  and is noticeable when you look at it. I then decided to use glare affects to give shiny services a more bright flash affec

Going to 7-11

Going to 7-11 On the Friday the 3rd, I filmed more scenes for my music video. I started out at my friends house, invited all my group members to come. As the director, I again supplied the camera, and recording equipment. In this scene we were going to film, we needed to head to the gas station. We had a lot of different ideas in mind, we then decided to shoot a couple videos at 7-11, a popular place for Rap music videos. My friends and I called our friend that has a neat car. He agreed to come, and we headed to the gas station. We first started off my trying to get some close up shots of our actors with our specifically picked out outfits on. We recorded 3 takes of the first close up scene. We did not have a speaker to play the music and get a feel for the song, so we had to walk all the way back to the house to get one. Once we got back, We then decided to take a long shot of walking into 7-11, my partner who was recording got in a low angle to show case the light in a very neat way.

Filming Blog 1 On Tuesday the 30th, my group member could not make it to film. I improvised and got some other friends to record the some scenes. As the director, I brought the camera and a stabilizer. As well as, My own Costumes, We wanted to shoot a video of me riding a jet ski. On that day it was very cold, so we had to go quickly to shoot some scenes. I got to my Daniels house, and We wasted no time, we headed over to where we keep the jet skis. We had to jump the fence Because we forgot the key. We then headed to the dock to get on the jet skis. We then filled them up with gas, and headed out to a safe channel that has no boat traffic. We started by getting used to driving the jet skis, we took a bunch of test runs before we shot the video. I decided it was time when I  started getting the hang of it , I had ridden jet skis a lot but I needed practice to make the best out of the scene. While practicing Daniel dropped his brand new phone in the water. We spent a couple minutes look
